#Everyone's Kusudama Project
One kusudama from everyone.
The COVID-19 pandemic has continued for much longer than anyone could have predicted a year ago.
As we've been asked not to move, not to meet, and not to do anything,
we've been thinking about what we *could* do.
Unable to meet people we used to meet as a matter of course,
without new encounters,
being careful not to get too close,
not to talk too much.
Now, when it's so difficult to "do something together" as was once normal,
why don't we collect everyone's flowers and create one large kusudama?
Please send us red flowers, a color traditionally associated with warding off evil in Japan.
Any number of flowers is fine.
Combining the flowers we receive with our own, we will create a large kusudama and
dedicate it to Imamiya Shrine, where prayers for the eradication of the plague will be offered.
This is the #Everyone'sKusudamaProject.
Even if we can't meet,
even if we can't talk,
we can quietly put our hearts into it.
Believing that in the near future, we will be able to meet with smiles.
We look forward to receiving your single flower.

Thank you for all your submissions.
We are currently preparing for the dedication in July.
We will report on the progress on social media, etc.,
so please look forward to it.

《Imamiya Shrine》
Imamiya Shrine, affectionately known as "Imamiya-san" by locals, is a 10-minute walk from our shop, across Daitoku-ji Temple. Its founding is said to have originated from prayers to quell epidemics, beginning in the 5th year of Shoryaku (994 AD), known as the Murasakino Goryo-e. The Yasurai Festival, one of Kyoto's three great unusual festivals, also belongs to Imamiya Shrine. It is a festival to drive away evil spirits and pray for good health.
