"Kyoto Chishin" aims to be a program that sheds light on the "active" = "new" aspects of Kyoto's traditional culture, "discovering the new by warming Kyoto."
Instead of focusing only on "heritage" as a "past perfect" subject, the program features "present continuous" artists, architects, artisans, dancers, and avant-garde artists who pursue newness in each era, building upon tradition, thereby discovering "newness" within Kyoto's 1200-year timeline of beauty.
