Finally, the 12th Geta Exhibition!

It's been a full cycle of the Chinese zodiac, but since it's held twice a year, it's been six years.

Even after six years, the geta from Kurosawa Kirizai-ten are still comfortable to wear (of course, we've had them repaired along the way).

Most of our staff wear them.

This time, it's in June!

That means Gion Festival will be here in no time.

【Kurosawa Kirizai-ten】

Founded in 1912 in Aizu, Fukushima.

Initially, it was a wholesaler dealing in high-quality Aizu paulownia wood used for paulownia chests and koto instruments.

Currently, it is one of only a few geta shops in Japan that handles everything from the manufacturing to the sale of Aizu paulownia geta consistently.

They offer a wide range of geta, including the "Aime Masa Geta," which can be called the true essence of geta beauty, as well as creative geta and geta made in collaboration with designers.

Because Mr. Kurosawa is involved in every aspect of geta production, from planting the paulownia trees to harvesting, snow-bleaching, processing, and attaching the hanao (straps), you will find geta with meticulous attention to detail.

Of course, they can also attach the hanao right in front of you, so you can wear them with the perfect fit.

Once you try them on, you'll fall in love with these geta.

These are geta that we want not only geta enthusiasts but also those who dislike geta or think that geta are only for yukata to try.

All of us staff members are already excited to see what kind of geta will be on display this year. (For our staff, who wear kimonos daily, this "Geta Exhibition" is where they get their geta.)
