New Colors & Parts Now Available! Tsumami-Zaiku Experience Renewed
# New colors and new parts added! Tsumami Zaiku Experience Renewal
Oharibako's "Tsumami Zaiku Experience," a long-standing offering since its opening, will be renewed starting March 1st!
It has become even more customizable and enjoyable.
New crystal flower centers have been introduced.
In addition to the popular eight fixed colors, two limited-edition monthly colors will be introduced each month!
In March, we have two spring colors: "Apricot" and "Ash Cherry Blossom."
The crystal flower centers tone down the "Japanese" feel, making them perfect for everyday use, and the finished products can be used as bag charms, etc.
Furthermore, same-day reservations are now possible!
(*Priority is given to advance reservations. For solo participants, only shared tables are available.)
Same-day reservations may not allow enough time to check reservation availability, and emails may be overlooked during busy times.
Therefore, please confirm and apply by phone or by visiting our store.
Whether you've visited us before or are a first-timer,
please come and experience the newly evolved "Tsumami Zaiku Experience."

— Excerpt from the press release below —
From March 1, 2018, the "Tsumami Zaiku Experience," which has been running for 15 years, has been renewed!
In this experience, you can create traditional tsumami zaiku using genuine silk habutae fabric, also used for maiko's hairpins, and authentic materials and tools.
The combinations are endless, with a wide variety of parts to choose from, such as flower shapes, fabric colors, and decorations.
Using the same tools and materials as artisans,
you can create "one-of-a-kind original tsumami zaiku."
This renewal has further expanded the range of materials you can choose from.
In addition to the eight standard fabric colors, two limited-edition monthly colors have been added, bringing the total to ten colors.
For the flower center (the central part of the flower), you can now choose between two types: "gold cord" with a Japanese aesthetic, and "crystal," which is easier to attach to clothes and bags.
Also, reservations, which were previously only available in advance, can now be made on the same day (*),
making it easier to incorporate into travel plans and allowing more people to enjoy the experience.
The experience takes place in the "Hanare," a Kyoto townhouse located past a courtyard adorned with trees and seasonal flowers.
We hope that by experiencing authentic artisan work in a space filled with Japanese charm,
you will come into contact with the culture and beauty of traditional "Tsumami Zaiku."
