◎Tokyo Kimono Show

The Tokyo Kimono Show
is Japan's largest kimono event, held every spring.
Whether you've never worn a kimono or want to start now,
come to the Tokyo Kimono Show
.

■ Dates: Friday, March 24 - Sunday, March 26, 2023, 10:00 - 18:00
■ Venue: Multiple venues in the Nihonbashi Ningyocho wholesale district, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.

For four of these venues, one admission ticket per person is required.
*The workshop will be held at the "Tagami Building," which requires an admission ticket.

■ Admission Fee: 1,500 yen at the door, 1,000 yen in advance, free for high school students and younger

Tsumami-zaiku Workshop

Beginners & clumsy people are very welcome! Experience "Tsumami-zaiku" in a "Kimono Show Special Version"!

Create your own obi clip / hair pin / brooch using dyed pure silk habutai.

(Duration: Approx. 60 minutes)

Why not enjoy Tsumami-zaiku, a traditional craft originating from the Edo period?

First-timers and clumsy people are very welcome!
This workshop, which has been held for many years in front of Daitoku-ji Temple in Kyoto, is participating in the Tokyo Kimono Show for the first time!
Please rest assured that no one has failed to complete it in the past 20 years.
Choose your favorite color from beautiful habutai fabrics dyed by a Kyoto dyeing artisan,
and a Tsumami-zaiku artisan will happily teach you how to make the pinch folds.

Let's make a Tsumami-zaiku in your own original color.
By choosing the flower shape, color, and center, you can create a one-of-a-kind piece in the world.
A memorable item.

This time, as a special Tokyo Kimono Show version,
to help everyone who enjoys kimonos enjoy the seasons,
butterflies and clovers will appear as limited designs!
You can also choose to finish it as an obi clip!

Some materials, tools, and kits will also be sold at the venue,
so even if you are not participating in the workshop, please stop by if you are interested in Tsumami-zaiku.
