This time, it's held right before the Gion Festival! Let's celebrate the festival with new geta!
Now, for our recommendations at this Getabako event...
When it comes to summer, it's plain wood! Fabric-covered! Giraffe print!
Plain wood geta that boast outstanding beauty of paulownia wood, living up to the name "Kurosawa Kirizaiten." We highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality plain wood geta. Once you see them, you'll fall in love with their charm.
"Fabric-covered" geta, as the name suggests, have fabric applied to plain wood, and each pair is unique. They are very popular even among those who don't wear kimonos or yukatas, as their casual style is easy to pair with Western clothes! You're sure to find one that suits your taste.
*We can also make them from fabric you bring yourself. *Photos are of past products. We plan to introduce this year's fabric-covered geta on Instagram and other platforms during the event.
Kurosawa Kirizaiten original geta "Giraffe" These giraffe-patterned geta are playful and fun, and the impression changes completely depending on the hanao (thong) you choose. New colors appear every year, so be sure to check them out! These geta are also easy to pair with Western clothes.
We also have many other wonderful geta waiting for you, so please come and visit us!
What is "Getabako"?
Did you know there's a geta shop that handles the entire process, from cutting paulownia wood from the mountains of Aizu to shaping the geta base and fitting the hanao to your foot?
This is the 24th time we've invited "Kurosawa Kirizaiten" for a geta-fitting event.
That's "Getabako."
Not only can you order new geta, but we also offer repairs for your existing geta, and hanao replacement or adjustment is also OK.
This is a geta shop where you can see the artisan's face, and we especially want those who have never worn geta to enjoy them.
We look forward to seeing you with Kurosawa Kirizaiten's original, stylish and never-before-seen geta!
It's enjoyable for those who wear kimonos, yukatas, and even those who prefer Western clothes and don't wear traditional attire.
Oh, and we always have children and their parents attending! We particularly want children to wear them; they are geta that children can eagerly slip their feet into and run around in every day.
They last longer than shoes before being outgrown, which is another recommended point!
Geta for small children, depending on size and hanao, cost around 3,000 yen.
