"Painful geta are not geta."

Infatuated with Mr. Kurosawa, a young craftsman who meticulously creates geta, upholding the pride of a geta craftsman,

we have him visit Oharibako once every six months.

"Painful geta are not geta" is a quote from Mr. Kurosawa.

If you choose geta and hanao (thongs) made with solid domestic materials, manufacturing, and finishing, he will adjust them to your feet right in front of you.

In other words, it's a custom order.

A pair made just for you will be completed.

It may sound simple when put into words,

but the situation surrounding geta

is far from optimistic.

The raw material, Aizu paulownia, does not grow in just a few years.

It takes a long time and effort to cultivate it like one's own child,

then harvest it after confirming its condition,

store and dry it as logs,

and then rough-process it for lye removal, leaving it exposed to rain, wind, and snow for a year.

Only after that processing

does it finally take the form of geta.

Mr. Kurosawa dedicates himself to each step,

resulting in a completed pair of geta.

The 14th "Getabako" event has attracted many visitors

solely due to the appeal of Mr. Kurosawa's geta and his personality.

Please come and meet Mr. Kurosawa and his geta!
