We have fallen in love with Mr. Kurosawa, a young craftsman who, with pride in his geta craftsmanship, sincerely dedicates himself to making geta.
He visits Oharibako once every six months.
"Painful geta are not geta" is a saying by Mr. Kurosawa.
If you choose geta and hanao (straps) made with solid domestic materials, manufacturing, and finishing,
he will attach them right in front of you, custom-fitted to your feet.
This is what you could call a "custom order."
A pair made just for you will be completed.
This is the 13th "Getabako" event.
Many people visit us
solely because of the charm of Mr. Kurosawa's geta and his personality.
Please come and meet Mr. Kurosawa and his geta!
Also, this time, Enshu cotton tsumugi, perfect for "everyday kimono," will be available!
These cotton kimonos, which you can wear just as you are, as an extension of your everyday clothes,
are machine washable and priced in the 20,000 yen range (including tailoring costs), making them perfect for those new to tailored clothing.
We will have rolls of fabric available, so please feel free to pick them up and examine them.
Touch them, spread them out, and try them on.
There's a charm you can only understand by actually feeling them.
The reason it's a custom order event is partly because there are only a few rolls available for immediate sale (one roll per pattern), but also because
you can have your measurements taken and send it for tailoring on the spot,
buy just the fabric for a future tailoring, or
simply buy it as fabric. You're free to choose.

Founded in 1912 in Aizu, Fukushima.
Began as a wholesaler dealing in high-grade Aizu paulownia wood used for paulownia chests of drawers and kotos.
Today, it is one of the few geta shops nationwide that handles all aspects of Aizu paulownia geta, from manufacturing to sales.
They offer a wide range of geta, including the "Aime Masageta," which can be called the true essence of geta beauty,
as well as creative geta and geta collaborated with designers.
